Restroom Manager Alerts Consent

SquareKeeper Restroom Manager · Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-10-11

This page documents how recipients consent to receive text messages under SquareKeeper's restroom alert SMS program, “SquareKeeper Restroom Manager.” It describes the opt-in method used by participating businesses — a verbal consent script, with the consent recorded in the Restroom Manager app — the enrollment confirmation, and the full program disclosures, and is published as a public reference for recipients, participating businesses, and messaging carriers.

Who receives these messages

Recipients are a participating business's own staff and managers — for example, the people who look after the restrooms at a restaurant, gas station, retail store, gym or office. A customer who finds a problem scans a QR sign by the restroom door and reports it on a web page; staff who agreed to text alerts receive a text naming the business, the restroom and the problem (for example, needs cleaning or supplies low), so someone can take care of it. Messages are operational alerts only. SquareKeeper does not send marketing, advertising, or promotional messages, and mobile numbers are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes. Customers who report a problem never receive texts.

How consent is collected

Consent is always collected before any message is sent, and enforcement is built into the product:

  1. The business owner asks the staff member or manager, using the consent script reproduced below.
  2. Only an explicit “yes” proceeds. The owner then enters the person's mobile number in the Restroom Manager app and actively checks a consent box — unchecked by default — beside the consent statement reproduced below. Saving records the consent event with a server timestamp, the owner's account and the statement version.
  3. A person may be added without SMS consent — they receive alerts by phone notification in the app and by email only. The system enforces this: no text can be sent to any number until the consent event is recorded.
  4. When consent is recorded, the number's first message is an enrollment confirmation that identifies the program and includes opt-out instructions (reproduced below).
  5. Replying STOP ends all texts immediately. Replying HELP returns support information.

SMS consent is voluntary and is not a condition of employment or of any purchase — the same alerts are also available by email and in the app.

Verbal opt-in — the consent script

The business owner asks, in person or by phone, in English or Spanish:

The consent statement in the app

After an explicit “yes,” the owner records the consent in the Restroom Manager app by checking a box, unchecked by default, beside this statement:

Hosted opt-in evidence

The consent statement above appears in the app exactly as reproduced, in the language the app runs in, beside a consent box that is unchecked by default. The recorded consent event (date, statement version, and the owner account that recorded it) is stored in SquareKeeper and enforced before any text is sent.
